Children Classes

Champion Taekwondo Penticton offers 3 class age groups for children starting at 4 years old:

Little Tigers - 4 to 6 year olds

Our Little Tigers program is an introduction to Taekwondo. In this class, students will focus on the development of motor skills through different training methods such as obstacle training, kicking, punching, blocking, pattern movements, and games. Our program will help students build confidence, respect, discipline, concentration, and a winning attitude. Students are taught to be accountable for their behaviour in class, along with important life skills that every young child should know in order to keep safe, all while burning energy and having fun. Our instructors teach high energy kids to focus, and timid students how to be confident.

Class Times:

  • Tuesday/Thursday 4pm-4:30pm
  • Monday/Wednesday 4pm-4:30pm

Children Beginner/Intermediate Class - 7 to 13 year olds

Students in this class are at the beginner and intermediate level. Fundamental Taekwondo techniques are taught at a faster pace than the Little Tigers class. Students will be challenged with physical conditioning drills, sparring, board breaking, patterns, and self-defense strategies and techniques. Students are taught to take responsibility for their actions and uphold a positive image in the club and in the community. We offer interested students the opportunity to compete at various martial arts tournaments. At Valleywide Taekwondo we do report card checks before belt grading to ensure students are applying themselves at school the same way they do at Taekwondo. Students demonstrating an outstanding work ethic will be given the opportuniity to train with Valleywide Taekwondo's competition team./p>
